Absolutely this. It's totally their business how they approach or complete their tasks in their patch.
Seeing this is can be a little insight to how they operate however. Perhaps worth remembering if you ever ask them to look after the cat whilst you're away (for example).
As for giving the kids a ride on the mower, meh. Such things with Dad were the highlight of growing up in the boonies. I was the only 10yr old in class who could drive a manual car. Our neighbour taught me the backhoe when I was 13. I'm sure (at least I hope), there's many similar stories from others.
