I’ve only met Rob fleetingly, at a CWAS astrofest some years ago if memory serves, but I recall he was a delightful character who was held in high regard by many freinds and colleagues who knew him well.
It is also depressing that Australia seems to have moved toward an ethos of shunning the scientific method (including experts such as Rob) in favor of popular opinion and politics...anyway I digress. I wish him a happy and healthy retirement.
