Hi astronut, many thanks for your great advice.
I will eventually consider all the upgrades mentioned.
Will probably start with (1) 8X50 straight through finder instead of the Red-Dot; (2) collimation knobs & (3) a (laser?) collimator.
Any suggestions on which brand of 8X50 finder?
