Thanks guys. I started early this morning, around 8:45am to see if the cooler temperatures might produce better seeing. If they did, I was unable to notice due to the effects of the Sun being at a lower altitude.
I also tried imaging through a Lumicon UHC filter, and an Astronomik IR Pro to see if they helped but in the end, returned to my trusty old Baader IR Block as recommended by Erwin.
Sunspot 904 looks different again this morning but the jet stream is fair whipping its way through the Brisbane skies so the images on screen are really, really fuzzy, with just the occasional crisp one flashing into view. And that is at prime focus with no Barlow.
Hmm, looks like another difficult day at the office.......
