I've been gifted a 16" truss dob, possibly a GSO, given it has a GSO dual speed focuser and GSO type pivot fittings. On what is a home built dob base. Atttached pictures show the handset and what I think are some sort of indicators fitted to the base. The handset works fine. What I'd like to know is how does it actually work? After plugging in the handset and searching for an object and selecting it, I noticed that the part on the side showed a lit LED, but not on the ring on the base, so maybe that part is not working. One plug from the handset fitting is connected to the ring, but there's four vacant plug sockets at the cardinal points. Maybe something is missing. I've also cleaned up everything since the pics were taken. :-)
Really not fussed if it can't be fixed, once the mirror is re-coated it'll be just fine, but it would be nice to learn a bit more about it.
