I have this eyepiece and think it's great with my f10 SCT and f8 refractor and terrific value - but probably less effective with an f5 scope. I did once try it in a 10" GSO dob and the outer part of the field it noticeably less sharp - not sure if this is due to aberrations of the eyepiece or simply coma in the newtonian that isn't so evident in an eyepiece with a smaller field of view.
