Never saw the P3B Orion ' vent ' fuel on the ground at Edinburgh AFB while I was there ... sure it can ' dump ' fuel ' in emergencies in flight.
You are correct .. Avtur ( Aviation Kerosene ) has a high ' flash ' point.
Best one I seen for ' leaking ' fuel was the SR71 prior to flight.
