The subtly dark square is rotated about 30 degrees. There is a chance alignment of faint stars pricking out the edges of the square, making it look more salient. The Meyer Square!

Thanks Mike. I like the Meyer Square, sounds good. I must admit that while looking at it I can see the detail although did not pick that up until you mentioned it.

Thanks! The luminance image is quite good in its own right, maybe even better than the final colour version.
