Hi Simon. I did give up, and no longer have a telescope, or equatorial mount.
At somebody's suggestion I got a Sightron Nano Tracker and put it on a
light tripod, and now do occasional widefield imaging, mostly 50-100mm,
The whole rig weighs around 2.5kg so i can carry it easily with one hand, and leave it in my hobby room ready to go at a moment's notice.
