I captured some images of the sperm whale that was beached this morning on Dixon Park Beach Newcastle Australia. The pictures were taken around 10am EST.
The images show how difficult the job of removing the huge carcass was and how the Newcastle Council workers had to resort to digging a hole and burying the whale at the 'beached' spot. There was a large crowd of spectators viewing the procedure which was akin to a funeral with a very solemn air.The pictures show how horrific the damages were the whale recieved which may have been caused by 'propellors'?
