Cat 5 through pvc pipe should be plenty and give you reliable connections, No mucking about with varying wifisignal strength or wifi bandwidth getting chocked with other wifi traffic (eg streaming vids on another device etc.) since wifi is nowhere near as fast as regular ethernet. Especially if you want to record via network.
