That's terrible news Trevor. Laurie is right on the money. The key thing with any electronics that gets wet is immediately remove the power source. Unless you can completely remove all sources of salt then you will have problems as the salt will retain moisture. If you didn't immediately remove the battery after retrieval from the salt water then it's highly likely that the unit will have constant problems in the event that you manage to get it repaired. Any voltage within the unit will start to etch cct board tracks away and conduct into components that would otherwise not be subject to high voltages and currents. FWIW I have worked on several PABX phone systems that have had rainwater (fresh not saltwater) ingress, not one of them was useable after the event. The first port of call, if you have cover, should be your insurance company.
