Utterly magnificent Mike! There is still many discoveries that us amateurs can discover. This all stems from the fact that most professionals cannot pump the necessary time into imaging objects like this to see if there are any changes.
Looking at the exposure time table the the professionals, only once did they go over 15 minutes for total integrated exposure time per channel, this is between 1991 and 2012. They have better resolution but without a legitimate reason to go looking, a lot of the time they cannot get the integration needed to go deep.
