i was keeen to see the events but so much smog around Kiama saw me set up at the Blow Hole (which was performing amazzzingly
and invite tennis friends. we really couldn't see the shadow or Europa at 200x in the 16". too much Earthly atmosphere. but friends were impressed by the equatorial stripes and GRS, splitting Alpha Cent, Omega Cent, jewel box and Saturn.
i enjoyed watching Europa egress after friends left capping off a good night.
Quasar Publishing (3 amateur astronomers) do an annual Astronomy Australia guide to the night sky includes daily graphics/list of Jupiter's Galilean moon events that are visible. Often available at Nat Geographic shops. a lo/no tech. option.
