I remember saving for 4 months for the 8" Dobsonian I eagerly wanted as an 16 year old. I even remember walking 8km to the camera shop selling it and walking it home in a "borrowed" shopping trolley...and then walking the empty trolley back again (yes, I was a responsible lad).
Not so easy for kids to get part time small jobs any more. I worked in a take-away Chinese shop...was paid below the award as I was kinda off the books
. It was still enough to pay for the scope in instalments - which was a FORTUNE back then! ($800 by memory!!!)
Logan is A-OK in my books, 'cept he won't sell me that Tak MT-160...I keep trying
