Carina...YES, Carina!

RCW-58...the forgotten and neglected Wolf-Rayet in Carina.

Now, I know that by revealing this there will probably be a scamper by all and sundry to image this little lost Wolf-Rayet nebula, but ya get that I know, there will be 10" RC and 12" RCOS images in the next couple of weeks now  So here is the 3.3" refractor version in glorious one-shot-colour RGB for you A grand total of 5 hrs on ONE target, done in a SINGLE night. (yeah, I know...5hrs...me...5hrs...ermergerd !)

I had hoped to get a start on the H-a for it last night, but I chickened out as it got too late...errr....early and too cold (dropped to 3° ambient / 0.7° felt here last night). It needs the H-a to bring out the bubbling and rolling H-a shell (it's not worthwhile doing OIII as there is next to none in it after looking at many other examples). The PLAN is 5hrs H-a. I LOVE the dark lanes in the left field!

Usual guff:
Moon: 65%

Telescope: Takahashi FSQ-85EDX Baby Q

CCD: SBIG STF-8300C one-shot-colour running at -15°

Mount: Vixen SXP

Guiding: converted Takahashi 7x50 finder with a helical focuser and a Lodestar

Location: side yard, Canberra Airport (Bortle cried....)

Software: MaxIM 5 capture, PHD2 Beta guiding, SharpCap polar alignment, PixInsight for pre-processing and initial adjustments, PS6 for final adjustments

Yes, I KNOW the tilt is back (top left corner) - my fault, I neglected to reset it after cleaning the CCD platen.

Here's some low-res versions for those not bothered in viewing my big tomales:
