Here in Mackay aka central QLD we just catch the bottom edge of the monsoon and the top edge of whatever is happening down south. The weather here seems to be a lot milder the past couple of years, no random wild storms, the only weather warnings have been from cyclones a couple of times in the last decade. The southern weather seems to be having a stronger influence here than the northern monsoon. The weather might be milder but the clouds seem to be more persistent though.
