To me, the only time Autohome would ever be used is after a power loss at a remote location and you dont have a webcam view of the scope to recover it to the rough home position manually.
In that case, you need to ensure the OTA is setup correctly to match the mounts mechanical home sensor.
If you manually set home for the first align and always park, then the Autohome routine never really comes into it.
