Yes you can legally have one for any reason just not self defense, but our youth keep saying its for protection and are getting charged, instead of "ohh thats just my fishing knife". A lad here recently was found with a swiss army knife in his car but because he couldn't think of a lawful excuse for having it he was charged with having a knife in public. If he said it was his can opener or screwdriver he would have been fine. The letter of the law is an ass sometimes
