SharpCap has the 'Brightness' control. I hadn't even touched it but it was set at 51 by default.
For some reason my adventures with SGP were not very successful. It's overly complex and unfriendly and I had connection stability and control issues with it. I may look at it again one day but Sharpcap seems to work first time.
I just can't find the 'Anti-Cloud' button though..
