I used to do that too. I'd set up my MP3 player while I was observing. Dunno why I don't do it anymore, I probably should.
I'd LOVE to spray the cat with water or anything else. Problem is I can never actually FIND it. This thing is like a shadow in the night, it must have some sort of advanced technology that lets it fade away into the darkness because I can never, ever find it when I'm looking for it. I don't even hear it during the day so I have no idea where it goes when the sun is up, but it's out at night and it is vocal.
Also it's ironic you should mention Centaurus A, since that was the last object I was sketching before I jumped a foot in the air and totally ruined everything.
