[Tropo-Bob (Bob)]

Long time ago when at school (In the Apollo, Moon-landing years) , I had many friends who were into Astronomy and had telescopes. We also played Chess (almost daily) and were all good players.

I visited some Astronomy Clubs where a sizeable minority of the membership were into flying radio-controlled aircraft.

Any readers into the above activities, or have noted any other narrow interests (not talking about drinking beer or following sport!) that other amateurs often pursue?
