All true and yes more than likely an inherent genetic trait in young males, rite of passage, show off, impress the girl etc. One really good scare can be enuff in some case not all. I try to avoid pigeonholing one particular age group coz I ride with some young guys that are actually surprisingly mature in their on road antics. But others even older...well.... they're fools I guess and make no mistake they get told. I definitely don't take and are aware of the many risks I used to take when younger, I suppose Ive grown up..
