PS I observed it visually on the 27 of last month.
It was low down and of indistinct shape,which I put down to the seeing.
I also thought it was about mag 11.0

Yes, usually some politics involved. Try not to think about it, takes the enjoyment of it. Glad you got to observe O1, it's certainly causing it's own controversy without the naming. Is it or is not in outburst, or periodic brightening due to rotation. Or just profuse outgassing from switching on.
The debate sure is lively!
