Justin, I think the IAU has lost a lot of credibility ince the Pluto naming debacle
They have even lost the SN reporting responsibility.
Lots of politics involved .

PS I observed it visually on the 27 of last month.
It was low down and of indistinct shape,which I put down to the seeing.
I also thought it was about mag 11.0
