Great image Andy. That's the object (its full shape is heart shaped) that I have seen a few times over the years when I have done Ha images of the Milky Way. And yes its rarely imaged as I had no idea what it was and as you say no one seems to image it.

I imaged it very widefield over the weekend and I'll post that in the next few days. Its quite a striking area.

Well done on such a good image of a rarely if ever imaged object (strange its missed the attention of astrophotographers).

Did you do any O111? I wonder if it has any O111 or is it all Ha? Come to think of it I have O111 data of the area. I'll have to check it.
