These are spam bots, they all have similar user names and usually sign up in groups.
They're easy to spot (can't divulge how) and we ban whole groups at a time, even before they make their first post.
Mike even bans entire IP groups.
But if none of us mods are online at the time they do get through especially in the early hours.
They're certainly spam bots because they usually each make exactly 34 posts and then stop.
They are getting very troublesome for us as it takes up a lot of our time and stops us from enjoying the forum ourselves, it's become a constant daily battle.
It's up to Mike now if he will look into implementing a different login strategy.
Until then us mods will just have to do the best we can and also rely on your help to just be patient and report these spammers.
