I recently acquired a Skywatcher EQ5 simply for the Synscan GOTO kit as spares for a Vixen GPD I have that is fitted with the same system. As such, the EQ head is entirely redundant and available for modding, repairing, whatever.

I have stripped it down completely, so you will need to re-assemble it. I started degreasing to perhaps rebuild it but simply don't have any desire to any more. It is the head ONLY - no tripod, no tripod adapter, no counterweights, no motors or slow motion controls.


It is in VERY good condition, so if you are a tinkerer, this is for you. I have seen these modified to an alt-az mount, so that may be a consideration.

Don't ask me to take photos, please. It is what it is - complete minus the electronics, tripod and counterweights.
