I'll have a go. I'm not sure that it's a good thing to disable SIMBAD. But it seems to work ok for now... maybe when I become a bit more used to the program I will find an issuse with switching SIMBAD off.
SIMBAD as per wikipedia
SIMBAD (the
Set of Identifications, Measurements, and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) is an
astronomical database of objects beyond the
Solar System. It is maintained by the
Centre de données astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS),
France.
To Disable there is a box to uncheck. The way to get there ........
1. Open Stellarium
2. Go to left hand side menu and click on "Search window" icon
3. Click "Options"
4. Uncheck SIMBAD
It should now be good to go.
