Thankfully, it's not optical - just something for the wife.
Dropping a TOA - I believe the foot or ground that interferes with the decent will suffer more than the TOA. If you have never held a TOA, you don't know what I mean. I think the Japanese had a Russian designer on the TOA OTA - it's a damned tank!
