Extreme cold in Canberra? No disrespect intended, but it's all relative to your frame of reference. Having spent 30 years in Canada, in northern Alberta and Ontario, I can assure you, with that frame of reference, it does not get cold in Canberra. I grew up with guys that would be walking around in t-shirts in what passes for a Canberra winter.
