Well said, except that station/network owners respond to demand. Nobody watches, no return on investment. So, in reality it is the consumer who dictates what is on the idiot box.... or so the fairy tale goes.
Now, who is going to own up to watching choice garbage like "The Dim Sims" or "Modern Fallacy" for example? Or, maybe the local content ratings grabbers such as, "The footy drones" etc etc etc ad infinitum
(I have my flame proof suit on by the way)
