How the public can help?

If the stolen telescope is not found, and the ASV member is not insured, this would be a most devastating loss to him and for what he contributed on Thursday night at Star Gazing Live at Fed Square.
As the ASV member, out of his goodness, brought his own scope to benefit everyone at the ABC live event on Thursday night at Fed Square, could the ASV consider setting up a Go Fund Me page and let the ABC know, and for the public and us all to donate and contribute towards buying the replacement equipment, ie, the telescope, mount, eyepieces and filters etc, everything that was stolen from the ASV member.
I would hope and think it is the least that we and the Melbourne public can all repay his kindness for bringing his scope for the children and public on Thursday night and that we can go in some way repair/reverse his loss and damage here?
