Cashies sometimes send them interstate if it's a valuable item to make it harder to track down.
I'll keep an eye/ears out; I get calls regarding the sale of 2nd hand goods (which we absolutely don't touch for this very reason) but we're up in QLD. Perhaps try to alert local telescope shops and public observatories as well as they often get such calls from people attempting to sell 2nd hand goods.
