Interesting, my mount was always a bit cranky about starting up, comms errors to the motors and required a bit of patience to get going sometimes. I put it down to old connectors to the hand control etc playing up as it always got going eventually. I knew when it worked because there would be a little clunk noise as a motor moved or something.
But a new board and it starts up instantly with no clunking noise and the tracking and guiding is much better with no erratic jumps that I used to occasionally get. Just wondering whether the old board had some problems from the past haunting it. I got over 2 hours of very accurate guiding the night before last. (NGC 2264 - but it needs a lot more time on it ).
So something good comes from what looked to be a bit of a disaster at the time.
