I recall recently seeing a British comedian (can't recall who, or what show - probably
"QI" or
"Would I Lie To You") contemplate how difficult it must be for people to engage in fruitful discussion on the History of Nazi Germany on a forum which is actually dedicated to the topic:
A: "Public book-burnings are the point at which we can say that a democracy's decline into an autocracy / dictatorship is irrevocable" - Discuss.
B: "Well, when Hitler and his supporters ..."
A: "Ha! You mentioned Hitler - you lose!"
B: "Doh!"
