haha, reminds me of when I did the same trip. I drove one car down, unpacked, drove back up, wife and stepkids flew down while I drove the second car down.
On my first trip, I took a wrong turn on a roundabout and ended up 2 hours back up north, lol. It wasn't until I pulled into Grafton (where I had originally filled up) did I realise what I had done! So, so stupid! I slept near Bunnings for 30 minutes before heading off again.
I didn't take the inland route, choosing the coastal one instead.
