Saxon 102mm f/9.8 achro (4 months old)

I bought this scope brand new in November. At the time I was planning to sell my Stellarvue 110ED to raise some cash and wanted a cheap 4" scope. In the end I kept the Stellarvue and so the Saxon is now surplus to requirements.

This was my first experience of a longish FL achromat and I've been impressed. The scope has good optics and surprisingly good contrast. CA is well controlled. Lunar views are especially good.

This is the OTA only. It comes with tube rings and dovetail bar but NO finder, diagonal or eyepieces.

You can see the OTA in this link:

There is one issue with the piggyback camera mount attached to one of the rings. I tried to remove it but the threads of the screw stripped off as the screw is very soft. The black plastic ring just screws on and no more, i.e. it covers the end of the screw but can't be used to mount a camera. The ring could be easily replaced or you could attach another piggyback bracket to the other ring.

The scope is too long to ship so pickup only from Ryde.

Asking $150 ono.

Enquiries by PM please.
