An area I used to work in would send circuit board via Aust Post. One day we asked about handling etc. Was told don't mark as fragile or glass because they may want to hear it tinkle. As to how well to package. Their advise was "Hold it straight out in front of you and drop. If it survives that, it will be ok".
Did not instill us with confidence about anything fragile and heavy.
