Another good one, and the best app for tablets and phones IMO is SkySafari. I use the plus version which was $10 (I think?) Not sure if the free one offers the same but it has observing lists that will highlight various objects.. eg all deep sky, Messier objects, planets and comets, "best of" for the current night, etc.
