Saw the pup again. It was cloudy, with a northerly flow. When it cleared the stars were almost without a twinkle. Sirius looked good, so i gave it another shot. Using an eq mount this time i was able to place the scope tube in a way that placed the diffraction spikes out of the way. Both the 8mm paradigm and the Celestron7mm x-cel lx showed it steady. Shows you don't need expensive glass.
