Pgch electrical power hasnt been around that long and grids only over a century. Pretty sure a lot of humans got on fine without it and the sky didnt fall in. Perhaps we are too used to power on tap and need to adapt to a different way of life.

I grew up in the remote countryside and we often had power outages for days at a time for various reasons. We still survived and i have good memories of sitting around a lamp and candles playing board games till bedtime.

A good saying is adapt or die. You can't bury your head in the sand and expect things to go away or stay the same.
