Clive I don't entirely agree.
I certainly do agree with the scientific evidence however there are other factors and a significant one imho is the "heat island" effect of expanding suburbia - with appallingly badly designed houses - on what had been grazing land and bushland.
So it should be no surprise to see capital cities breaking record temps as this urbanisation continues unabated and with little thought given to natural and passive cooling.
