Sounds good.

I know the argument against CF for thermal reasons and tube currents but I wonder if it also makes focus more stable in shifting temperatures. My carbon fibre Planewave CDK is a marvel at focus stability throughout the night and also from night to night. Refocus is almost not needed.

Good to know.

This could be a hot widefield scope setup. Fluorite triplet F5.6 - mmm ymmy.

Did that with the TEC110 which was a gorgeous scope. I suspect the focuser would only be suitable for lightweight cameras.

The best setup there is to ditch a focuser altogether and use a FLI PDF or Atlas focuser and a fixed longish tube adapter so there is no flex and accurate focusing. Plus you can do thermal adjustments on the fly using Sky X focuser control which works reasonably well.
US$2700 for a scope like this in 2016 is a steal. The TEC110 was more like US$5600 and I don't even know if Yuri is making them anymore and if he is there would a longish wait and he was talking making them F6 at one point.

Greg.
