funny thing is, probably is probably not many people have heard the worst song ever written - thank goodness! it was never recorded! teehee

basically 80% -90% of popular mainstream music that came out in the '80's would qualify for me - I'm sorry, but it was the gayest most insipid music era ever - remember androgyny?
The result no doubt of the coked out, so-called 'gay mafia' running the biz during that era, and the invention of the portable/mass affordable synthesiser, mtv, the music video coming to the fore ect. - I much prefered when the Italian/American mafia ran the charts in the '60's (payola ect.) they gave us Jimi hendrix et al - the 80's would never of happened with the mafia in charge!! (btw the mainstream popular music industry - radio ect. - is probably the most corrupt biz in the world - but no one cares of course, as its never ever been taken very seriously despite all the monies generated)

re modern music, as an old muso I have to bight my tongue, as I personally believe kids today are being ripped off badly music wise, this would definately qualify as the most cynical and manipulative era of popular music to date (and often openly and proudly to boot!). generally speaking, Image is way way more important than the music is ie. all style no substance (i'm not talking about dance/whatever its called music here - more about boy bands ect.).
But then you have to look at what they are really looking for, and that is something that gives there state of the art in fidelity 8.1 15" subs system a serious work out, and that requires something from a modern digital studio with superb digitally sampled sounds - ie: its how low the bass goes and how fast/much it vibrates your insides that matters now, not the melody ect. to me the music seems secondary to the aural pyrotechnics/showride and fame they seek - more just a auditory sensory stimulation thing (sound familiar?) than a cerebral experience?
But then popular music has always been technology driven - even mozart ect. ie: the invention of the piano, the invention of the solid body electric guitar to rock and roll and on and on blah blah.
But theres plenty of newer modern bands/acts artists I still like, dont get me wrong, but then hardcore techno music heads would think my choices mostly lame and made for old people to think their hip hehe - that would ruin the essence of being rebellious if I liked it?
