Did you know that China has destroyed one of its own old satellites in 2007 - in an altitude where the rubbish won't burn up in the atmosphere?
1/6 of the total debris up there is caused by this particular typical act of pure arrogance and stupidity humans perform all the time.
You ought to watch the film "Gravity" Seriously good CGI on what could go wrong shooting up dead satellites..
