I've been using a HEQ5-Pro for nearly three years now and have been very happy with it. If you go this way make sure that you get the HEQ5-Pro though, not the EQ5. I've been doing AP (with some success) using aDSLR on the back of a Sky Watcher ED120 refractor plus an Orion Guide scope package without too many hassles. With a good alignment I've been able to run 8 and 10 minute guided subs. (Usually shoot 5-6 minute subs at ISO 800 though).
