Another Binocular Mount
Hi All,
Heres another Binocular mount, someone may be interested in.
I cant take full credit for its design,I found a link,by a Cloudy Nights Member,to a site that showed a similar design, using pipe for the mount, and tripod.
I had a spare EQ1,and decided to use it,instead of pipe.
As you can see,it is fairly self explanatory, although, any questions will be happily answered.
It IS NOT BETTER,than a Parallelogram,at least I dont think so.
But,I think it is Way better than a tripod,as you can reach Zenith, without breaking your neck.
What it does do, is remove the weight, and typical jitters associated with higher powered Binoculars,
In Fact when using my Barska 15x70,s it showed no more movement problems, than a typical 8x40.
You can see my wife Kathy Easily using the 15x70,s
It is simplicity itself to make,
A 1 metre length of Aluminium tubing, some light chain,a few nuts, and bolts,a small muffler clamp,(to hold the coke bottle, and water).
The 2 litre coke bottle with water provides the balance,
for lighter Bino's less water etc.
To give the required upward tilt for the Bino,s a longer bolt is screwed into the tripod hole, and the chain held in the correct place,by milk bottle caps, and a spacer, slid along the bolt,to keep them in place.
Regards.
John
