For the fishermen and fisherwomen

This is a photo of a black bream I caught at Bombo Beach the other day. It was 2.1kg and 42cm long. Unfortunately it was gut hooked so I couldn't release it. I really don't like keeping large breeding fish but no point feeding them to the sharks. Bait was a live beach worm caught at 7 mile beach at Gerroa. For reference the cutting board is 38cm long and the dinner fork is a full size 200mm long dinner fork. It was caught about an hour before dark and an hour before high tide.

Rod used was a 12 foot Wilson live fibre rated at 6kg.
Reel was a Shimano Thunnus CI4 6000 baitrunner.
Line was Power Pro Super Slick 10lb braid
Leader was 10lb Sunline FC Rock Flourocarbon.

I often get some 35cm to 40cm whiting at this spot on live beach worms through the summer.

Cheers
John B
