A good planetary camera is one which is capable of taking many frame per second - this quick exposure allow the moments of good/ great seeing to be captured. A stacking program (like Registax) then combines the images to give the best results.
ASI cameras/ DxK cameras/ webcams etc fall into this category. Mono cameras would require additional filters to produce colour images.
For deep sky, the exposures are much longer, in the tens of minutes and the cameras usually have built-in cooling capability to reduce background noise.
The DSO camera also have much larger chips to record large areas of the sky - they tend to be expensive!
ATik/ Starlight/ SBIG etc are typically used.
